Measuring Your Room for Puzzle Floor
Equipment required: 25 ft steel tape measure, sketch pad (download here) and a pencil.
It is easier to measure if you have a helper to hold the end of the tape measure.
- Sketch the layout of your room (it doesn’t have to be to scale).
Standing in the center of the room look around the room at each wall and sketch. Make sure that you include all doorways, all changes in wall direction, and all fixed items like fireplaces, islands, window seats, etc. that will not be removed to install the floor. Make sure you include closets and indicate if you want to install Puzzle Floor™ in the closet.
- Start measuring from the same point that you began your sketch. Measure each wall section to the nearest inch. Measure to the outside edges of mouldings and baseboards (the side that touches the wall). Measure door openings inside of the door casing.
- If there is an island in the center of the floor that will not be removed when the Puzzle Floor™ is installed this must be located on the drawing. To locate measure from a common point on the outside wall to 2 different points on the island.
- Please advise what units of measure were used for measurements
